Ca Ðoàn Emmanuel!

We came together as a choir in December of 1996 at the Community of St. Peter Vietnamese Catholic Church, Dallas, Texas.  St. Peter's is one of the oldest Vietnamese Catholic communities in Dallas.

Back then, we had about 10-15 members. The majority (90%) was female. Our conductor then was  Anh Lê Quốc and Bác Khánh was our Choir president.  Bác Phượng succeeded Bác Khánh and still is our president today. Then Cô Khương stepped up to be our conductor for a couple of years while Anh Quốc took a 2 year vacation. Now Anh Quốc is back and he's waving the baton again.  Cô Khương has graciously taken over the post of librarian.

The choir has gone through some changes from mostly adults to mostly young adults. We are still mostly female and about 20 members. We serve at the noon mass, also known as the youth mass. We rehearse promptly at 10:45 AM on Sunday before mass.

Why the name Emmanuel? We thought because the time we came together as a choir was Christmas time and so what can be more appropriate?

God is with us! And may God be with you too.
